Jan 4, 2019

Midwest Muay Thai and The The Art of Teaching with Kru Jamie Bradley on this episode of “The Fight Focus.”

Jaimie Bradley became a Kru, or teacher under me through the Muay Thai University back in 2013, however she has been an educator for nearly 2 decades. As a teacher of physical education, Jamie started her Muay Thai journey at a weight of 230lbs. Fast forward to now, she has fought in a ring, become the first female Muay Thai Coach at Lion Fights, owns her own gym Kru Fit in Indiana and is helping spearhead the evolution of Muay Thai in the Midwest.

On today’s show we talk about:

  1. How did you get into Muay Thai
  2. What got her past her fear of stepping into a martial arts school for the first time?
  3. Teaching concept of “Gradual Release.”
  4. The correlation between repetition and confidence.
  5. Skill vs. Drill building.
  6. How has your roll as an educator affected your teaching?
  7. Biggest obstacles during her career?
  8. The growth of Midwest Muay Thai.
  9. Kids in Martial Arts-avoiding injury and burnout.
  10. The process of coming of age for teenage Muay Thai.
  11. How did she become the first female coach of Lion Fight and how she dealt with sexism during her first event with the organization.
